Taken from Goodreads: Secrets, lies, and second chances are served up beneath the stars at a picturesque mountain getaway in this powerful novel about love and family by the bestselling author of This Is Not How It Ends.
At the Vis Ta Vie inn, Reneé and Jean-Paul De La Rue face the daunting decision
to close their beloved home for good.
They’re not the only ones going through a season of change, though. Their
guests include three couples in Hollywood celebs Leo and Penny are spending
their silver anniversary together while on the cusp of divorce. Lucy, a
practical-minded therapist, and Henry, an astronomer with his head in the
stars, are struggling to find common ground. And former lawyer and current
stay-at-home mom Sienna and charismatic sports agent Adam look perfect but are
hiding rifts of their own. Thrown into the mix are self-absorbed single mother
Cassidy and her sullen fifteen-year-old daughter, Rosalie.
The stage is set for a week of betrayals, regrets, and shocking truths that can
rend the heart or heal it. Vis Ta Vie—live your life—captures what it
means to love through the darkness, and to find the light even after the magic
fades.
My Thoughts:
We Are Made of Stars is a great fiction book. It is a book for everyone. The characters were all very developed, the
storyline has something for everyone but mostly it is rich in relationships,
friendships, and drama. Each set of
couples have their own issues. Each couple comes to the inn for their own
reason but the friendships that they make are lifelong.
I love the remote country inn setting. The hikes that they took gave my mind a
great visual of what the characters were seeing. The menu at the beginning of each day made
my mouth water. I could taste the food
as it was cooked with love and thoroughly enjoyed. I could picture the inn and the surrounding
woods and mountains.
The book starts slower, which just leads up to the climax of
the story. The point in the book where
I could not stop reading and the beginning comes together. The characters have those ah-ha moments with
each other and relationships are mended.
I love it when a book comes together and that is exactly what happens in
this book. Everything comes together,
although now exactly the way I thought it would.

A little about me. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida,
the youngest of four siblings. After college, I moved to Los Angeles where I
launched my career at the LA Weekly, running advertising and promotions for
film studios and record labels.
A few colorful years later, I returned to Miami, landing my
first dream job through an ad in The Miami Herald. Yes, an actual newspaper.
For the next ten years, I managed the advertising, marketing, and promotions
for every record label in the country at The Box Music Network. Our South Beach
offices were the hub for musicians and record executives worldwide. Work
consisted of meeting talented superstars and listening to great music. Fun,
right?
Marriage and kids soon followed in the form of dream job
number two, and The Box eventually moved to New York. Sometime in between
raising twins, PTA meetings, carpool, flag football, basketball, and lacrosse
tournaments, writing freelance, cheering on the Dolphins and Heat, and
volunteering at organizations near and dear to my heart, dream job number three
took root, and I became a full-time author.
When I'm not writing, I'm always with a book (or two or
three) in hand, and have shared that passion on-air as the monthly book
contributor for Miami's NBC-6. Today you can catch my favorite reads at Women
Writers, Women's Books and AQUA South Florida Magazine.
Life has a funny way of happening this way. Doors open and
close. Avenues await. One path leads to another. I thought life was fun before,
but nothing is more fun than this.
