My Thoughts:   Pay Matters to Kids is a great learning book on how important it is to save money and have a goal.   Each character in this book has their own way of making money and their own goal to reach.   I liked how each page showed someone with a different background and family dynamic, making them relatable to anyone reading this book.

The story kept the details of saving at an understandable level for kids while showing enough unique ways to save to make it easy for anyone to do. Whether you put your money in a jar, a bank, or an envelope, saving is a great idea.

5 W’s of Writing a book and being an author…

Who?   Who are you besides a children’s book author?  

I am the father of 2 boys. I am a business owner with 10 employees. Our company does compensation consulting for employers. I am an author of the business book Pay Matters: The Art and Science of Employee Compensation. I am a philanthropist, as the Executive Director of the Pay Matters Foundation our mission is to provide people with the knowledge and resources they need to make informed decisions about compensation.

 

What?  What helped you decide to write a children’s book? Or how do you decide what to write?

I started asking friends and clients how they paid their children, and the real-life stories intrigued me enough to write the book to help parents, grandparents and caregivers talk about financial literacy to their little ones.

 

Where?   Where do you do most of your writing?

I write in my office where it is quiet, and it allows me to concentrate on the ideas and themes that I want to convey.

 

When?   When do you do most of your writing?  How do you find the time in a busy life? 

I write very early in the morning before the day gets busy.

 

Why?   Why do you write?   Do you write books other than children’s books? 

I write to contribute my experience and ideas to others who share my interests. I am an author of the business book Pay Matters: The Art and Science of Employee Compensation.
