Sweet with Heat: Seaside
Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each
summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They're sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate
to, you'll be begging to enter their circle of friends!
Nights at
Seaside by Addison Cole
is the "sweet edition" of New York Times best-selling
author Melissa Foster's steamy romance novel Seaside Nights. The
stories and characters remain the same, and convey all of the passion you
expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.
In Nights at Seaside...Sky
Lacroux has finally realized her dream and opened her own tattoo shop in
Provincetown, Massachusetts. She’s happy as can be, preparing the shop for its
grand opening and renting a cottage in the Seaside community while renovations
to her new apartment are being completed. The only thing missing is the one
thing she longs for, and has no control over - love.
Sawyer Bass, a professional
boxer, plays his guitar at a local bar to escape the painful reality of his
father’s deteriorating health and a recent health warning of his own. But when
he spots a stunning brunette across the room, escaping reality goes out the
window, and the beautiful woman becomes the focus of his next song - and maybe
even the rest of his life.
When Sawyer walks into Sky’s
tattoo shop and sees the woman from the bar - Sky - the chemistry between them
is instant. Sawyer is everything Sky could ever hope for in a man. He’s honest,
loving, sensitive, and potently virile - but boxing goes against everything Sky
believes in. The closer they become, the more she realizes that her alpha boxer
is waging his own emotional battle - only the battle she thinks he’s waging
isn’t the one that threatens to tear them apart.
All Sweet with Heat novels
are written to stand alone, so dive right in!
My Thoughts…
Oh, my gosh. I love Melissa Moran as a narrator. She makes magic with her voice. I am able to feel the emotions, understand
the feelings, and lose myself in her words.
Melissa Foster is the perfect writer with the perfect narrator. This is the second time with Sawyer and
Sky. I read the written version of the
book first and then listened to it the second time. For me, listening to it brings the
characters to life and reminds me why I loved the story so much the first
time.
In Nights at Seaside we get to know Sky and Sawyer. Sky is a character that has been seen in the other books in the series but she has always been a secondary character. This is her time to shine, her time to find love, and her time to tell her story. Sky and Sawyer see each other at a bar and the sparks fly immediately. There is an attraction that no one can deny yet they don’t talk that night. By chance Sawyer comes into Sky’s new tattoo parlor and fate cannot be denied. I love how quick they come together, how fast their relationship grows, and how evident their love for each is. Sometimes a relationship goes too fast but this relationship had to move fast. These two were so meant to be together that a slow relationship growth was out of the question.
The Seaside Girls made their position on the relationship known. They accepted Sawyer into their family without question. There was no doubt that Sawyer would be part of their family after the first bonfire on the beach. The Seaside guys were just as welcoming. Right away Sawyer was taken into their confidence and brought into their lives. I love the scene by the pool with the guys and girls and their jinx’s towards Theresa.
Everything in this story is wonderful. The characters, the setting, and the story is exactly what I look forward to when I pick up an Addison Cole book.
