The Prisoner by B.A. Paris
Genre: Mystery Thriller, Suspense
Publication: November 1st 2022 by St. Martin's
Press
Taken from Goodreads: With Behind Closed Doors, B.A. Paris takes the psychological thriller to shocking new heights. Now she'll hold you captive with this stunning new thriller about one woman wed into a family with deadly intentions.
Amelie has always been a survivor, from losing her parents as a child in Paris to making it on her own in London. As she builds a life for herself, she is swept up into a glamorous lifestyle where she married the handsome billionaire Jed Hawthorne.
But then, Amelie wakes up in a pitch-black room, not knowing where she is. Why has she been taken? Who are her mysterious captors? And why does she soon feel safer here, imprisoned, than she had begun to feel with her husband Jed?
My Thoughts: I am a fan of B.A. Paris. Each book is a huge thriller and I know that
there will be so many twists and turns.
This one threw me around. I was
up and down, inside out and outside in.
I had no clue what was going to happen next. Every page was a thrill for me and I love
it.
Amelie was
doing what she had to just to get ahead in life. She was dealt a tough hand from the start
and had to take care of herself for most of her life. Jed Hawthorne seems to have the answers that
she needs and is offering the help she could use, little did she know who Jed really
was. I cannot imagine living as she did,
doing what she had to, and not giving up on life. She never gave up but it was never
easy.
The Prisoner is
a phenomenal psychological thriller. The
ending… I do not even know what to say other than WHAT?!?! I had no clue, I did not see it coming. I was shocked! I love it!
