My Thoughts…
If you are looking for a good, honest, love story this is
the book for you. Laura Miller is an
author that knows how to write a story that brings the characters to life, gets
you involved in their lives, and makes you become invested in them. The characters are real, wholesome, small
town people. Especially Rem. His demeanor is typical small town. Everyone knows what everyone else is doing
and he is okay with that. He knows that
is how his town is. Ashley comes from
rural, but not quite small town USA.
She learns that rumors are started and spread quickly throughout the
small town.
There is a mystery in this book. Who is leaving Owen postcards? I did not figure it out. I was surprised when the who was revealed. I had ideas, I even thought about the
person who was leaving the postcards.
Yet, I did not believe that I had the right answer. This was not the main part of the
story, but it was an important part.
The relationship between Ashley and Rem was the story. I enjoyed hearing about the past and
learning where they were at the present in the same book. It was easy to follow, fun to read, and kept
me entirely entertained from the first page to the last page. You could feel the love, the respect, and the
angst within each chapter. I cannot
choose which I liked better, the present or the history. They both told a story that was necessary
to know Ashley and Ben.
Laura Miller is the perfect romance author. When Cicadas Cry is wonderful. This is a book that you cannot pass up. Pick up your copy NOW!
