The Look of Love by Sarah Jio

Published November 25, 2014 by Plume

Born during a Christmas blizzard, Jane Williams receives a rare gift: the ability to see true love. Jane has emerged from an ailing childhood a lonely, hopeless romantic when, on her twenty-ninth birthday, a mysterious greeting card arrives, specifying that Jane must identify the six types of love before the full moon following her thirtieth birthday, or face grave consequences. When Jane falls for a science writer who doesn’t believe in love, she fears that her fate is sealed. Inspired by the classic song, The Look of Love is utterly enchanting.

My Thoughts…

I love books where the characters each have their own stories, yet the stories intertwine throughout the entire book.  Each person in this story has a great history.   With that history there is a need, whether it is to find love again, find love for the first time, or just find trust.    I loved how Jane had an interaction with each part of the story.   Somehow she was friends or acquaintances with everyone in the story.   She knew exactly what they needed, whether she wanted to or not.

There is a little bit of everything in this book.   There are marriages that need some support, there is a people who are looking for fulfillment, couples looking for love, and a lot more.  I absolutely adored how diverse this story was.    Will the bachelor meet his happy every after?    Will the single woman meet the right man?

Sarah Jio offers so much to her readers.    There is relationships, love, romance, and infatuation.     The characters have a lot of self discovery.    The Look of Love is a book for everyone.    It will warm your heart and pull you right into the story.
